If you're flying from Alicante this autumn, here's what matters most: the big long weekend is in December. Tuesday 8 December (the Immaculate Conception) is a public holiday across Spain and, with Monday the 7th in between, lots of people make a four-day break of it, from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8. All Saints' Day on 1 November, on the other hand, falls on a Sunday, and in the Valencia region it isn't moved to the Monday. Book your parking space as soon as you have your flights: on Spanish bank holiday weekends, parking gets sorted before the suitcase does.
Before you book your parking, it's worth checking which days are public holidays where you live, because they differ from one Spanish region to another.
In 2026, 1 November falls on a Sunday. In the Valencia region, Monday 2 November is not a holiday, so if you live in the province of Alicante it's just a normal weekend.
Other regions do take Monday 2 November off: Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, the Madrid region and Navarre. If you're visiting from one of them, or friends and family from there are flying out to see you, you'll have a long weekend from Saturday 31 October to Monday 2 November.
This is the busiest holiday break of the autumn:
If you live in the Region of Murcia and fly from Alicante, Monday the 7th is already a day off for you. If you live in the province of Alicante, one day's leave turns the break into four days.
Don't forget local holidays either: every town hall sets two a year, and one of them might stretch your break further. Check your town's calendar.

Over a bank holiday weekend, departures are packed into just a few days: almost everyone leaves on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning and comes back on Tuesday afternoon or evening. You notice it on the approach roads to the terminal, in the car parks and at the check-in desks.
For us, these long weekends are among the busiest times of the year, along with Easter, the summer and Christmas. That's why we recommend three things:
At our car park next to Alicante Airport, the process is exactly the same on a Tuesday in February as on the Saturday of a bank holiday weekend:
We're open 24 hours a day, so you can drop off your car even if your flight leaves first thing in the morning or you land in the middle of the night. The shuttle is free between 7am and 11pm; outside those hours there's a €10 supplement per journey. Our car park is monitored, fenced and tarmacked, and in Alicante you can choose between covered and open-air spaces. If you like, we can wash your car while you're away so it's clean when you get back.
Sunday 6 December is Constitution Day and Tuesday 8 December is the Immaculate Conception, a public holiday throughout Spain. In the Valencia region, Monday the 7th is a working day, but if you take it off you get four days in a row, from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8. In regions such as the Region of Murcia, Madrid and Andalusia, Monday the 7th is also a public holiday.
Not in the Valencia region: 1 November falls on a Sunday and is not moved to the Monday. Monday 2 November is a public holiday in Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, the Madrid region and Navarre.
As soon as you have your flights. Bank holiday dates are the first to fill up, and booking early guarantees your space and the type of space you prefer, covered or open-air.
Yes. Our car park at Alicante Airport is open 24 hours a day, every day, including public holidays. If you drop off or collect your car between 11pm and 7am, there's a €10 supplement per shuttle journey.
We take you. You leave your car at our car park and we drive you to the terminal on our shuttle, free between 7am and 11pm (€10 per journey outside those hours). When you get back, we pick you up and take you back to your car.
When you book, you can add our delay insurance. It covers up to 24 extra hours beyond your planned pick-up time, with no charge for extra days.
